Our team is comprised of 28 dedicated individuals who support 50 adults with an intellectual and or physical disability, to be independent members of their community. This is accomplished through providing social and employment experiences to every individual attending OTEC’s program.

Join our team, we are currently hiring peer support workers.

On a typical week:
- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities including employment.
- Encourage and support the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathroom assistance, while promoting independence and dignity.
- Maintain accurate daily records and notes to track progress and well-being.
- Foster open communication between participants, their families, and community partners to ensure comprehensive support.
- Advocate for participants in community settings, including interactions with OTEC (or other relevant services).
- Always promote safety and well-being, ensuring a secure environment for participants.
About You:
- Previous 1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a related support field is preferred.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic with a strong commitment to promoting independence and inclusion.
- Self-motivated, outgoing, energetic, positive, encouraging, kind personality.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with participants, families, and community partners.
- Flexible, able to adapt to changing operational needs.
- First Aid, CPR, Criminal Record Check and SD check completed upon hiring.
